Giving Tree Philanthropy Fund ("the Organization") is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity. The purpose of this Conflict of Interest Policy is to protect the interests of the Organization and its donors by preventing conflicts of interest that could compromise the Organization's mission and operations.

Definition:

A conflict of interest arises when a person's personal interests interfere with their ability to act in the best interests of the Organization. A conflict of interest can occur when an individual or their family members have financial or personal interests that could influence their decision-making or actions on behalf of the Organization.

Policy:

1. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

All directors, officers, employees, and volunteers of the Organization must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest to the Board of Directors in a timely manner. A conflict of interest disclosure form will be provided to all directors, officers, employees, and volunteers to facilitate this process.

2. Review and Approval

The Board of Directors shall review all disclosures of conflicts of interest and determine whether a conflict exists. If a conflict exists, the Board of Directors shall determine the appropriate course of action to address the conflict, including but not limited to:

a. Prohibiting the individual from participating in the decision-making process related to the conflict;

b. Requiring the individual to recuse themselves from any discussions or decisions related to the conflict;

c. Requesting the individual to resign from their position with the Organization;

d. Any other action deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.

3. Annual Review

The Conflict of Interest Policy will be reviewed and updated annually by the Board of Directors to ensure that it remains current and relevant. All directors, officers, employees, and volunteers will be required to review and acknowledge the policy annually.

4. Recordkeeping

The Organization will maintain records of all conflict of interest disclosures and actions taken by the Board of Directors to address conflicts of interest.

Conclusion:

The Organization is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity. By adhering to this Conflict of Interest Policy, the Organization ensures that all individuals affiliated with the Organization act in the best interests of the Organization and its mission.
