ABOUT
GIVING TREE FUND
We are the Giving Tree Philanthropy Fund. We recognize and believe in the consequences of climate change on humanity and the responsibility we have to future generations to reverse course. Our vision is to build a future where environmental awareness, conservation, and protection are part of core thinking in daily life.
MISSION & VALUES.
WHO WE ARE.
GOVERNANCE.
Climate change is real and its consequences reach every aspect of life on our planet. We don't cast blame and we aren't political. Instead, we focus our efforts on projects, products, and technologies that can reduce humanity's environmental footprint, restore biodiversity, and deploy planet-neutral sustainable use of natural resources.
Our mission is to provide reliable, sustainable support for projects, products, and technologies that fall within one of four focus areas:
-
reverse the effects of climate change,
-
clean up oceans and waterways,
-
protect animals and habitats,
-
and improve STEM-based environmental conservation education.
Our unification around one vision, one mission, one set of values allows us to work collaboratively, efficiently, and expeditious to solve complex problems. We respect and celebrate diversity among the people, partners, and communities we work with as mirror to nature.
At the core of everything we do is education. In every project, we strive to teach awareness or provide hands-on learning within the communities we work with. We want to change the way the world views conservation activities from reactionary to preventative. We want environmental justice to be a natural part of living, something you just do, integrated into everyday activties.
The Giving Tree Philanthropy Fund is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation founded in 2021 by Michael Brommer, CEO and CIO of Giving Tree Capital, as a way to support his philanthropic priorities and public causes. Unlike other asset managers who support causes simply through philanthropic giving, Michael is passionate enough about the mission that he wanted to take a more hands-on approach. Further, Michael stays active in project delivery alongside his three children Asher (5), Shiloh (4), and Stevie (2) to ensure that they learn the importance of conservation from a young age.
Our Board of Directors is composed of experienced individuals from various backgrounds with shared values to the mission of Giving Tree, who oversee the organization's policies and operations. To ensure responsible stewardship of resources, Giving Tree's financial statements undergo an annual audit by an independent auditor, and we have established internal controls. We value transparency, and our donors can expect regular communication and reporting on our activities and financial performance. Our governance structure prioritizes accountability, transparency, and effective management of resources in our efforts to make a positive impact on the environment.
